Ray Charles, piano & alto saxophone (on “Soul Brothers” & “How Long Blues” only), plus:
Milt Jackson (vibraharp on all the tracks except on “Soul Brothers” where he only plays piano, and “Bags' Guitar Blues” where he is heard on guitar), Billy Mitchell (tenor saxophone), Skeeter Best (guitar; out on “Bags' Guitar Blues”), Oscar Pettiford (bass), and Connie Kay (drums).
On “How Long Blues”, Ray Charles plays alto saxophone and piano, and Milt Jackson plays vibraharp and piano.
Jackson is heard on piano only during Ray Charles' alto sax chorus, and Oscar Pettiford's first chorus on bass.
